THE shop tills have been ringing at the post-Christmas sales in Aberdeen, but many people in the north east fear they will have to make cut backs in the New Year. The dramatic drop in oil price - currently at an 11 year low of $36 a barrel - has had a devastating impact across the region, with oil firms and contractors cutting costs and laying off staff.
