Nine Groups Seek Injunction Against COOL Rule

Source: The American Meat Institute Nine organizations today filed a request in federal court seeking a preliminary injunction to block mandatory country-of-origin labeling (COOL), according to a news release from the American Meat Institute. As part of a lawsuit filed July 8, seeking to block the COOL rule finalized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in May 2013, nine organizations representing the United States, Canadian and Mexican meat and livestock industries asked the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to grant a preliminary injunction. read more
