Earthweek: The door of opportunity to control global warming is closing, according to United Nations climate chief Christiana Figueres. Her warning coincided with two independent studies that indicate the recent pause in surface warming may be the last for generations. Figueres made the comments at a conference on the effects of climate change on Pacific nations.
