Nokia suspends O-RAN Alliance activity to avoid US penalties

Nokia, one of the first major vendors to join the O-RAN Alliance, has reportedly suspended its participation due to fears that ongoing activity alongside sanctioned Chinese companies in the group could see the Finnish vendor also face penalties. The O-RAN Alliance is a working group dedicated to creating specifications for open RAN technology, i.e., open radio access network architecture.
