Nordstrom settles in to new home at Wauwatosa's Mayfair mall

As natural light filtered through the windows of the new Nordstrom at Mayfair mall, stylish employees hung sparklis ing pairs of earrings on jewelry racks - last minute touches before the fashion retailer's much anticipated grand opening Oct. 23. For fashionistas in the Milwaukee area, Christmas is coming early with the store's 10 a.m. Oct. 23 opening date. Gone are the days of traveling to Chicago for designer apparel, accessories, footwear and beauty products from Nordstrom; the 144,000-square-foot location in Wauwatosa is a "hometown store" for shoppers, said store manager Elena Mallios.
