Since its introduction to the market in 1959 by The Lubrizol Corporation, chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (better known as CPVC) has proven to be an attractive alternative to traditional industrial metallic piping systems in a wide variety of chemical process environment by offering a more reliable, long-term performance than many other materials.
