Nucor's Earnings Increase over Second Quarter

Nucor Corp., Charlotte, N.C., reported net earnings of $227.1 million in the third quarter, a decline of 7.5 percent from the prior-year quarter, but an increase of 82.0 percent from the previous quarter. Through three quarters, Nucor's earnings of $419.7 million were down 16.6 percent from the previous year.
