(Telecompaper) Carphone Warehouse and the other shareholders of Omea Telecom, the holding company of full MVNO Virgin Mobile France, have entered exclusive negotiations for the proposed sale of 100 percent of Omea to cable operator Numericable for EUR 325 million. Carphone owns 46 percent of Omea Telecom, which besides Virgin Mobile France owns smaller MVNOs Breizh Mobile, Tele2 Mobile and Casino Mobile. The remainder of Omea Telecom is held by Virgin group. The statements from Carphone and Numericable did not indicate the length of the exclusive negotiating period, during which they will also consult employee work councils. The transaction is also subject to approval by the French Competition Authority. Numericable said Vivendi will provide EUR 200 million of the financing for the deal, as part of their agreement for Numericable to acquire SFR.
