Officials call for ban of oil through Straits of Mackinac pipelines

Michigan officials have called for an immediate ban on transporting tar sands and heavy crude oil through the Straits of Mackinac pipelines. Attorney General Bill Schuette and Dan Wyant, director of the Department of Environmental Quality, announced Tuesday that carrying heavy crude oil through the pipelines would put the Great Lakes at risk.
