HE Space is a successful international space company. For 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for an OptoMechanical Development Engineer to support our customer in Germany. OptoMechanical Development Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European leading system house, specialised in development and implementation of high technology solutions for space. Your responsibilities will include Design and development of concepts for lightweight structures or optomechanical assemblies orientated to the extreme conditions in space Support of design tradeoffs in collaboration with the system engineering and technical disciplines optics, structural and thermal analysis, electronics, etc. Assembly studies and definition of the mechanical interfaces as well as design of the appropriate drawings Continuous monitoring of compliance with technical requirements, such as the assembly space, mechanical interfaces and mass budgets Construction drawings for assembly and parts with CATIA V5 Creation of standardized manufacturing documents item and assembly drawings, part lists, route maps and procedures Assisting in the creation of technical documentation Support of the production planning and maintenance. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in engineering or equivalent with a focus on the mechanical and constructional area Indepth knowledge of design methodology Solid experience in CAD design with CATIA V5 Experience in the design of lightweight and sandwich structures aluminum or fiber composite technology are advantageous. Knowledge in optics and or structural mechanics Experience in the application of relevant design and quality standards ECSSE and Q standards are an advantage Fluency in English German is considered an asset. This job is located in Munich. We are looking for candidates who are available from October 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter.
