You will have the opportunity to provide engineering support of Sentinel4 at 40 level and upcoming Sentinel7 Carbonsattype mission, Sentinel8 Thermal IR mission and Sentinel10 Hyperspectral mission Phase AB1 studies planned parallel studies in each case. You will be running of detector technology development activities Large Format SWIR detector and a number of detector predevelopment activities funded by EOEP. You will be supporting to technology developments in the field of quantum key distribution. The position is based in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include You will be supporting technology development contracts and performance of inhouse design work. In particular, assist in the establishment of requirements and configurations for payload equipment and subsystems involving Solid state lasers. Fibreoptic components. Detectors and focal plane instrumentation. Quantumelectronic devices and systems, including optical atomic clocks. Superconducting devices and sensors. You will be reviewing and evaluating technical documentation and design dossiers. You will be performing analysis and elaborating outline design and configurations. You will be assisting, where appropriate, external and internal testing, verification and evaluation of optoelectronic systems and components, including ground and airborne measurement campaigns. You will be contributing to the definition, maintenance and use of design, engineering and verification software tools for photonic systems and components. You will be assisting in the calibration of the optical test setup to allow quantitative laser damage tests. You will be operating the Laser Induced Damage test setup during test sequences. You will be preparing test samples. You will be assisting in the analysis and interpretation of the test data. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a PhD or Msc Engineering from a recognised Institution of secondary studies University, Ecole suprieure, etc. or equivalent in Photonics or Optics. You have a background in detector and quantum technologies. You have experience in the design, development and testing of optoelectronic systems and components. You have a good system experience in the use and application of fibreoptic components and sensors in spacecraft engineering. You have experience with highpower pulsed laser systems, complex optical setups and vacuum systems. How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
