(Telecompaper) Orange chairman and CEO Stephane Richard was held for questioning on 10 June over his role in an arbitration process in 2007 that led to a EUR 403 million pay-out to businessman Bernard Tapie, reports Le Monde. Richard was head of cabinet to former finance minister Christine Lagarde at the time of the deal to settle a dispute between Tapie and Credit Lyonnais. Being held for questioning does not mean that he will be put under investigation. Orange management stated that despite being held for questioning, Richard remains as head of the group.
