(Telecompaper) Orange Cameroon has signed an agreement with the Cameroonian government for the operation of the African Coast to Europe (ACE) undersea cable, reports Investir au Cameroun. Although the details of the agreement were not disclosed, the government launched a tender for a study on the construction of a landing point for ACE in the city of Kribi. The government expects the infrastructure to be built in 2015. ACE was deployed by a consortium of investors including Orange. The CEO of the operator's subsidiary in Cameroon, Elisabeth Medou Bandang, said that the arrival of Cameroon's third undersea cable (after SAT3 and WACS) would enable it to manage the growth in data use and to improve connectivity in the country.
