Orange Horizons, StarMedia open online stores in US, Mexico

2014-07-08 09:20:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Orange and Spanish-language portal StarMedia have launched an e-commerce website designed for customers in the US in English and Spanish. The website at store.orange.com/us sells smartphones, tablets and other high-end devices, primarily targeting the premium consumer market. Purchases are delivered anywhere in the US within 3 working days. Shoppers can buy products with Paypal, bank transfer or credit card. Orange's US store is led by Orange Horizons, a subsidiary that started its activities in South Africa in January 2013 and is now present in almost 20 countries where Orange is not already a mass-market telecom provider. Orange announced the opening of a similar online store for Mexico at store.orange.com/mx. In addition to mobile devices, the US store is offering the 'Orange Holiday' prepaid Sim card allowing visitors to France to avoid paying roaming costs during their stay. A USD 58, 14-day card offers users a French phone number, 2 hours of calls and 1,000 SMS from any European country to all international numbers, 1 GB of mobile data anywhere in mainland France and unlimited connection to 30,000 Wi-Fi hotspots in France.
