Orange Swiss 4G network launched earlier than planned

2013-05-28 13:42:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Orange Switzerland has launched its 4G network earlier than originally planned, and offers full use of 4G services to all pre-paid and post-paid customers, at no extra cost. Orange's 4G network will initially have population coverage of 35 percent with a maximum theoretical 4G speed of up to 100 Mbps. The 4G coverage is to be expanded to 71 percent by end-2013, and the download speed increased and step-by-step to up to 150 Mbps. To speed up the 4G expansion, Orange is increasing its investment by 25 percent to some CHF 100 million in second-half 2013. Orange Switzerland is also launching six new initiatives to enhance customer service. This includes allowing customers to get a new 4G device at any time, and a complete overhaul of the customer service hotline.
