Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber's proclamation of August 1 as "IEEE Oregon Sustainable Technology Day" coincided with IEEE-USA Annual Meeting, which began in Portland, OR with first IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability (SusTech). Dr. Thomas P. Seager, one of 5 keynote speakers, delivered opening keynote, "Systems Thinking for Sustainability." Meeting brings together IEEE volunteers from across USA and provides them with basic leadership training and program ideas.
