PALMYRA >> Palmyra's Shade Tree Committee recently awarded prizes for its first contest for the best tree scapes in the borough. Committee chairwoman Susan Verhoek, a former professor of botany at Lebanon Valley College, said the group hoped the contest would encourage residents and businesses to plant trees.
