A well-run parts department has a well-run system. What are the basics of a Dealer Parts Department that is well managed? On a regular basis, update your phase-in, phase-out criteria, restocking points, and lost sales, ensuring the DMS system is made aware of the demand for a particular part number. Beyond the basics, you have to physically make sure that what the system says you should have on the shelf is there.
