Space Applications Services performs and supports system and software engineering for the European Space Agency ESA, National Space Agencies and the aerospace industry. We are involved in international manned unmanned spacecraft programmes, earth observation, science, exploration, communications and related technology development. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Payload OperationsIncrement Preparation Engineer mf ENGSERVPOI201501 Tasks and Responsibilities The position covers activities in support of the ESA Human Space Operations HSO Department. The main activity is to provide payload activity coordination as part of the integration mission management function in the Columbus Operations division. The work will be at the European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands, and requires a resultoriented and proactive approach to work in a highly complex project environment as well as a strong capacity for planning and organizing tasks. The Payload Activity Coordinator tasks will include Payload operations products Payload Operations Data File PODF review. Review coordination of USOC and ESA operations documentation. Support to Payload operations preparation and operations support Payload pool monitoring. Participation in the monthly payload readiness status meeting. Participation in the ESA NASA bilateral integration team telecon. Participation in the payload feasibility assessment. Increment engineering support Assess the voluntary science and task list candidates. Certification of Flight Readiness CoFR campaign participation. Coordination with ESA public relations. Crew operations debriefing coordination. Participate in the increment lesson learned process. Payload imagery coordination and tracking. Act as a pointofcontact for ESA outside Columbus. Conduct the weekly interface meeting with the USOCs. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have an Engineering degree or better from a university, in one of the Engineering or Physical or Natural sciences disciplines, coupled with 2 years experience in a relevant technical field. Experience of ISS or Columbus operations would be an advantage. An excellent command of spoken and written English is also required.
