We are currently looking for a Payload Safety Engineer to join our team in the Netherlands. Payload Safety Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities In support of ESAs ISS Payload Safety Review Panel you will have the following responsibilities Provide technical support for interpretation of safety requirements, and for impact evaluation of newrevised requirements Assess flight and ground safety analyses and safety compliance data packages Provide written technical assessment of payloadcargo design and operation respect to special problem areas and possible suitable alternate solution Track implementation of safety verification identified in Hazard Reports Prepare and support payloads and cargo safety reviews Process cargo safety certificates and attached supporting documentation Safetyengineering support to the preparation of parabolic flight campaigns Assess adequacy and status of responses to Action Items assigning during safety reviews, in coordination with nominated experts Providing instructionstechnical assistance to ESA projects, contractors and other European Payload Organizations PO in preparation for their presentation to formal safety reviews and technical meetings Support audits of ESAPSRP processes implementation and provide support for implementation of corrective actions Data entry into NASAESA online data bases trackingarchiving of formal safety documents released and approved by the ESA PSRP Prepare minutes of all formal safety meetings and ensure their receipt, approval and distribution Liaise with counterparts to ensure that safety data packages are received on time at ESTEC, and ensure their internal distribution to ESA safety review panel members and technical support Process cargo safety certificates for cargo disposal and attached supporting documentation prepared by cargo providers. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in aerospace engineering or equivalent Several years experience in the field of payload safety Knowledge of the ISS environment for scientific payloads Knowledge of the ISS systems and subsystems Proficiency in the ISS and ATV safety requirements Knowledge of the scientific payloads development process Fluency in English is mandatory, knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
