Pep Boys CEO Odell resigns, effective immediately

The Philadelphia-based company, which also sells auto parts, named Director John Sweetwood interim CEO and said it will look at both internal and external candidates for a permanent replacement. The company's general counsel, Brian Zuckerman, said Odell had accomplished a lot during his tenure as chief executive, which started in 2008, but recent results had been disappointing.
