PepsiCo has started cutting jobs in Chicago, the latest step in a long-running effort to trim costs as demand softens for some of its soft drinks and snacks. The eliminated positions come from a variety of levels and appear to account for a sizable portion of PepsiCo's Chicago office, the site of the company's North America Nutrition division that oversees brands such as Gatorade, Quaker and Tropicana.
