General Mills Inc.'s preliminary decision to close its Pillsbury plant in New Albany came as a surprise to many this morning. Asked about the mood of workers at the plant, Roger Miller , president of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union Local 33 G, said: "It's shock, right?" Workers just came back from the holiday break, he said, and many were ready for business as usual.
