AirNet is ready to leave receivership behind and begin hiring in Columbus after reaching a deal to be acquired by Kalitta Charters LLC, the companies said Tuesday. Ypsilanti, Michigan-based Kalitta has purchased operational assets of Columbus-based AirNet Systems Inc. , a specialized cargo carrier that has struggled to overcome a plunge in demand for flying canceled bank checks over the past decade.
