Pine River Capital Management LP saw its U.S. equities increase by 22 percent to $5.46 billion during the third quarter, after boosting its holdings in companies including International Paper Co. and Chimera Investment Corp. The Minnetonka, Minnesota-based hedge fund manager added 1.53 million shares of International Paper, according to a quarterly filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
