Police in Irvine, Costa Mesa searching for female carjacker who stole two cars within minutes

Authorities are searching for a woman in connection with one attempted and two successful carjackings in Irvine and Costa Mesa on Monday evening. Irvine police received a call at 6 p.m. from a male victim, who said a female armed with a knife demanded and took his car from a parking lot in the 17000 block of Von Karman Avenue, said Farrah Emani, spokeswoman for the Irvine Police Department.
