Polyester intermediate prices are expected to significantly fall in the coming days after mixed xylene and paraxylene prices have slid in the last week in Asia. Demand for PTA and MEG is currently negligible from polyester plants where the return back to work has been delayed, over the coronavirus crisis. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
