Polyester intermediate prices have remained firm in the last week in the Far East, whatever the current jump in inventory levels at every stage of the polyester chain. Operating rates have been kept at high levels in the last months in China, while imports were falling. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
