The raw material costs of polyester fiber producers have stayed very firm in the last week in Asia, whatever the weakness of demand from textile producers in China. Operating rates are still at high levels, but could be slashed in the coming period. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
