Crude oil prices were today rebounding after falling at the start of the week. The current volatility of the global market offers a sign of coming uncertainties for the polyester chain. Over the long term, polyester prices could however get some support from the historical drop in excess capacities in China. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) prices on the domestic market, including a price comparison of polyester staple fibers with cotton and viscose. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers is also released.
