Polyester Recycling Disprupted by China's Ban on Waste Imports

China has implemented in January a ban on solid waste imports covering 24 categories of products, including polyester PET flake which is used for producing recycled polyester fibers, such as Re-PSF. Due to the vast size of the Chinese waste import market, this ban will have large repercussions on the global textile recycling chain. This report summarizes the implications of the recently implemented Chinese waste import ban on the fiber industry.
