Pork trade game plan

2017-06-16 18:42:00| National Hog Farmer

Selling more pork is about gaining new market opportunities around the globe. Currently, the United States exports pork to every continent except Antarctica. While U.S. pig farmers ship pork to 100 countries, the largest amount is exported to the 20 countries with free trade agreements. John Weber, National Pork Producers Council immediate past president and Maria Zieba, NPPC deputy director of international affairs explains NPPC's trade game during a World Pork Expo press conference. “While negotiating new free trade agreements is our top offensive priority, our No. 1 defensive priority is NAFTA,” Weber says.
