President-elect vows to safeguard Taiwan semiconductor industry

The Taiwan government must form a "national team" in cooperation with local enterprises to meet increasing challenges amid the rising supply chain from China, president-elect Tsai Ing-wen said on March 3 during a tour to the Hsinchu Science Park . The government must take a more positive role to safeguard Taiwan's semiconductor industry and maintain its edge in the field, Tsai said.
