Product Support Engineer Permanent Belgium The main responsibilities You will be a key member of the operational support team for the Space products. These products are burst demodulators, earth observation modems, satellite TTC modems, RF frequency convertors, .etc. You will be the interface towards the customer for operational aspects. Task Content He She interfaces with the engineering teams and product management preparation of installation of the equipment configuration LINUX workstations, installation of application SW preparation of the installation of satellite ground stations specification of the procurement of cables and equipment, make installation drawings, redaction of wiring diagrams installation of ground stations installation, commissioning and testing of equipment and ground stations abroad upgrade of SW on existing equipment, minimizing service outage give training to operators and Level2 support engineers of the customer give after sales support on customer calls troubleshoot system problems, assure that the service of the customer is guaranteed work closely together with engineering department to track down problems. Setup and improve installation and upgrade procedures followup of maintenance procedures support to sales team by assisting in technical part of offer redaction and providing demonstrations to potential customers Job experience BSc or MSc, with experience in troubleshooting telecommunication systems, preferably satellite communications. At least 3 years of experience in a similar function with knowledge of the telecom industry as well as an appropriate technical background. Job competences Strong analytical capacities thorough analysis of the problem and synthesis of all elements to come to a satisfactory solution for the customer. Well organized maintaining overview coordination being able to distinguish important from less important matters Accurate and resultdriven good knowledge of Linux system administration and data communication protocols, affinity with computer systems capacity to understand complex systems like satellite ground segments and access networks ability to act autonomously on location willing to work abroad, being regularly on duty and doing upgrades during nights and weekends. Being able to work occasionally under stressful conditions e.g. when there is a service outage, and have the creativity to find the solution that will lead to the service restoration. Possess good communicative skills be able to express yourself fluently in English. French is an asset. Professional attitude towards customers keeping an eye on potential customer needs and report them to product management.
