Our German activities grow at fast pace and to face our costumers high level expectations and needs, we are looking for talented profiles having relevant experience in Space systems. We are looking for a Project Manager The Project Manager will provide herhis expertise to the TSS Technical and Scientific Support Department and OPS projects portfolio, and specifically to follow ground segment engineering tasks and projects, the longterm maintenance of the operational systems, equipment, sites and services, including their evolution and also the development and evolution of operational observational products and agreed third party satellites programmes. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Provide contribution to the TSS and Operations and Services to Users Department Project Managers as part of the coordinated Project Management Support Office PMSO in the following tasks Preparation of the Project Charter Project Opening Form Preparation of dedicated Project Baseline, Project Breakdown Structures and the associated Project Management Plan PMP. The PMP contains, inter alia The Project development logic Project lifecycle including the interrelation with its related Programme andor with other Upgrade Projects The Project Phases and planning, including the definition of the objectives for the major Project Quality Gates The management processes to be implemented during the Project lifecycle The product tree, if applicable The Work Breakdown Structure WBS and associated Work Package WP descriptions, including the estimated effort and time scale required to perform the WP when applicable The resources human and nonhuman allocated to each WBS element of the Project The Key Performance Indicators to be used to monitor and control the progress of the Project The Project schedule up to hand over to the related Programmes still in Phase CD or to the Operational Readiness Review of Upgrade Projects, including the identification of the Critical Path and schedule indicators During the execution of the project Update and maintenance of the project baseline and associated PMP Maintenance of an Action Item List Management of Project risks and associated mitigation actions Preparation of synthesised progress reports for internal and external purposes Preparation of presentations for internal and external purposes, attending the relevant Project progress meetings including Project Board Meetings and documenting and tracking the decisions and actions discussed and agreed Preparation of Project Quality Gates from a management standpoint, as well as the organization of dedicated progress meetings and key checkpoints. Preparation and maintenance of the Project Schedule and Schedule monitoring tools and indicators Preparation of the Project closure activities, including a dedicated Lessons Learnt exercise. Coordinate the execution of some of the tasks with other involved supporting entities such as the Project Control or Quality Assurance teams. You shall also collaborate with the Quality Assurance team in the execution of the following tasks Participate in the review and maintenance of the Project Management and Scheduling processes guidelines, templates and indicators, based on the gathered experience applying them in the projects and departmental activities. Support the definition, production and improvement of departmental dashboards and KPIs Key Performance Indicators, providing a preliminary analysis of the results. Gather specific Project information for a later process analysis at departmental level and for the implementation of departmental processes such as Risk Management or Lessons Learnt. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree or equivalent, preferably in a management or engineering discipline. At least 3 years of demonstrated handson experience in Project Management disciplines i.e. risk management, action control, reporting, planning, ideally with a PMP certification Development life cycle systems engineering Sound knowledge of related QA processes and procedures, preferably applied in projects. Good office computing skills with extensive handson experience in using the Microsoft Office Suite. Fluency in English. Very good interpersonal and communication skills to be able to interface efficiently with both the management and technical levels of the tasks. Ability to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner and be able to work calmly and correctly under stress. Ability to draft concise management reports and executive level presentations in English and the capability and experience to fulfil the assigned support tasks with a minimum of supervision. Experience of working on a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. Direct experience of project management and scheduling for spaceground segment development or operations and with the ECSS lifecycle or equivalent will be considered as an advantage. The following skills would be highly desirable Experience in managing a portfolio of projectsactivities.
