POSITION ID 3796 Role Function Project Planning Engineer in Darmstadt Germany MUSTHAVE SKILLS MANDATORY The key person shall be able to analyze complex situations and development schedules, identify critical areas and produce accurate and concise analyses, recommendations and synthesis. Able to fulfil the assigned tasks autonomously, be able to plan the work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks and work in a rigorous way to agreed deadlines. Willingness to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. University degree At least 5 years experience performing project planning activities preferably on large and complex development projects in the aerospace or similar domain Demonstrated ability to define system development logic, lifecycle and schedules and successfully implement them Demonstrated ability to understand the technical aspects of system components and their development constraints Proficiency with MSProject The Key Person shall be used to working in a rigorous manner with formal configuration management of schedule versions. Heshe shall also demonstrate good communication skills verbal and written and be a team player. NICETOHAVE SKILLS CONSIDERED AS AN ADVANTAGE The following would be additional assets Certification in project management or in project management disciplines Knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures and processes Experience of Earth Observation systems andor Ground Segment development. TASKS Maintain a detailed development logic and schedule of the projects as requested Including all the subsystems and services, consistently with overall programme constraints, and in coordination with the relevant Client teams, contractors and partners Ensuring that the corresponding development logic and schedule remains at all times consistent with the programme constraints Performing a critical path analysis of each version of the schedule Followup sub systems developments and participate in necessary meetings and reviews Track progress against agreed development plans and Interaction Documents and signal any likely or identified deviations from these plans, together with the elaboration of proposals to reduce the impact of any delays Provide inputs to the EPSSG Ground Segment Or JasonCS Systems and Ground Segment, as requested Plans concerning the development logic, schedule and interactions Provide regular summary reports on development progress against the development schedule and the status of interactions Identify interactions between subsystems and partnerscontractors and associate them with the main development milestones and work breakdown structure. Prepare and maintain Interactions documents, defining interactions between subsystems, together with their need dates. Interactions will cover such areas as Deliverables hardware, software, databases, documentation, algorithm, test data sets, tools, configuration statuses Support mutual review support, joint test and operational rehearsals preparation and execution, test data analyses Access to services, sites, facilities, infrastructure and interfaces. Manage the configuration of EPSSG Ground Segment Or JasonCS Systems and Ground Segment Schedule and Interactions Documents versions, as requested On request, provide consultancy on planning activities within LEO on the other activities such as EPSSG System ones. These activities will involve daytoday interactions with Clients teams, and interactions with external stakeholders. Travel within Europe may have to be undertaken.
