Proposed EPA Rules will enhance waterway protection.

New hazardous waste rules proposed by U.S. EPA will strengthen environmental protection while reducing regulatory burden on businesses. One proposed rule will protect waterways, including drinking and surface water, by preventing flushing of hazardous waste pharmaceuticals and simplify requirements for healthcare workers. Other rule will provide flexibility to industry while requiring new safeguards to protect public from mismanagement of hazardous waste.
