Proposed legislation seeks to increase fines for blocked crossings

Trains blocking railroad crossings continue to be problematic in parts of Elkhart County. But could increasing penalties fix the issue? A proposed bill by Indiana Senator Carlin Yoder would increase the fines for railroad companies that block crossings for extended period of time.
