Portable device generates stepped voltages beginning at 690 V and slowly ramps down until device shuts off, indicating that 2-pole voltage tester can correctly indicate voltages at different levels. Facilitating operation, proving unit automatically turns on when voltage test prods are inserted into its output terminals.
