2019-01-10 11:55:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Proximus has confirmed the launch of a new reorganisation plan, with the aim of remaining relevant on the Belgian market and securing the company's future. The company noted that the telecom market in Belgian is not growing and that prices are also coming under pressure from "heavy regulations", and all this despite the increased demand for connectivity. The new #shifttodigital strategy will seek to make the company more digital and flexible and its employees more competent. The big goal will be to lower costs, with targeted savings of EUR 240 million by 2022. This will take place in various ways: by cutting jobs, making the company more efficient and by near- or off-shoring. The company also confirmed the further roll-out of its fibre network and preparation for 5G and said it wanted to further expand ICT activities.
