(Telecompaper) Qualcomm is set to lay off around 600 employees next year as part of its restructuring plans. A company spokesperson told Cnet that around 300 workers would be cut from its California base, as well as a "similar number" of international employees. The spokesperson declined to say how many full or part-time employees would be cut, simply confirming that the change is "focused on specific projects and programmes and reflects current business priorities." According to regulatory filings Qualcomm had around 31,300 full-time, part-time and temporary employees at the end of September, up about 300 from the year earlier.
