Mackay Sugar has announced a deal to export up to a third of the sugar produced at its three mills through Brazilian giant, Copersucar. CEO Quinton Hildebrand, one of the staunchest supporters of the single marketing desk controlled by Queensland Sugar Limited (QSL), says the decision to sell 150,000 tonnes through another company is an "insurance policy" for growers and Mackay Sugar.
