In any system design that involves radio frequency (RF) transmitters, protection against the dangers of extremely high levels of radiation is a large concern. There are the dangers of overexposure for humans in the general public, and there are dangers of accidental ignition of highly combustible liquids or ordinance in military environments. This application note discusses on the guidelines in place for radiation safety, and examples of radiation reference levels and cases with absolute restrictions.
