Based on same principle used in automotive windshield wiper control systems, RG-11 Optical Rain Gauge is sensitive to even tiny amounts of rain, and stops sensing when rain stops, without having to wait for water to evaporate. Device may be set as On/Off indicator or used to emulate tipping bucket where qualitative measurement of rainfall rate is desired. Immune to external contaminants, sensor is suitable for greenhouses, agriculture, and louver vents.
