The National Electrical Code (NEC) calls for roof top solar photovoltaic (PV) installations to have a rapid shut down means within 10 ft of the solar array and disconnect within 10 sec of activation. This session reviewed those Code requirements and presented a number of different types of rapid shut down devices that are currently available in the market.
