To meet the increasing demands for low power and flexible Internet of Things connectivity, this paper presents software instruction based highly flexible design architecture for Medium Access Controller design. Focusing on SW implementation, MAC architecture is generalized to support any physical- layer protocols such as Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Bluetooth or any other standards.
