(Telecompaper) Romania's telecommunications authority Ancom received applications from 2K Telecom, Orange Romania, RCS&RDS, The National Radiocommunications Company and Vodafone Romania in the auction launched on 7 September with a view to awarding licences for the use of radio frequencies in the 3410-3600 MHz and 3600-3800 MHz bands. The candidates that qualified to the next stage will be announced until 12 December. The procedure continuation course (whether primary rounds are required or not, based on the demand/offer ratio) will be published until 21 October. If the demand exceeds the available resources, the auction rounds will be initiated on 26 October. A total of 16 paired blocks (2x5 MHz bandwidth) available on a national level in the 3.4 - 3.6 GHz band and 36 unpaired blocks (5 MHz bandwidth) available on a national level in the 3.6 3.8 GHz band have been auctioned out at the selection procedure.
