(Telecompaper) Rovi is in advanced talks to acquire Tivo for an as yet undetermined price, the New York Times reported, citing sources briefed on the talks. The deal would merge the two companies, with Tivo shareholders receiving a combination of cash and stock, the sources said. Talks are still at a sensitive stage and could still fall through.
