Ranchi, July 21: Steel Authority of India Ltd has urged the state government to ensure secured supply of iron ore, the main raw material, while underlining the PSU's demand for forest and other statutory clearances for the entire Chiria area and re-opening of three closed mines lying abandoned for years. According to a senior SAIL official, a high-level delegation of the PSU met chief secretary Rajiv Gauba and joint secretary, Union ministry of steel, Sunil Barthwal at Project Building last evening to request for iron ore security so as to expand its Bokaro plant and accelerate other ambitious projects.
