SFR appoints Charlier as CEO

(Telecompaper) French operator SFR's board of directors has appointed Jean-Yves Charlier as CEO following a proposal from parent company Vivendi's management board. Charlier, who until now had responsibility for Vivendi's telecom operations at group level, will continue to follow several strategic telecom projects for the group. Vivendi is in the process of selling its 53 percent stake in Maroc Telecom. SFR's former chairman and CEO, Stephane Roussel, remains as chairman. Sandrine Dufour, currently Vivendi's deputy CFO and executive vice president of innovation, has been appointed as SFR's executive vice president for finance and strategy. According to Reuters, former CFO Pierre Trotot is leaving the company.
